Luke Barnard

I currently work as an IT Director for a worldwide Logistics company and have worked in this role for the past 4.5 years. Previous to this I worked in IT roles for eCommerce & Retail organisations (Marks & Spencer & TCS) as well as a Fast-Moving Consumer Goods company, PepsiCo.

I have lived in the village since 2014 and we have two children. My son currently attends the school and my daughter should join in 2025. Along with the school, I am also a leader in the Anstey Beaver Group.

This is my first role as a Governor joining in September 2023. I have joined the finance & personnel committee as well as taking responsibility for the Website Governance.

I have always had a keen interest in education with many of my family members coming from a teaching background. I did at one point consider a role in education however chose a corporate career. My wife is a deputy head teacher in a Leicestershire school and has always spoken of the benefits of being part of a schools governing board. I was keen to contribute to a community that I moved into and wanted the opportunity to give back.

I continue to play football but my real passion is Rugby (Watching) and I am a keen Leicester Tigers fan. Much of my time these days is spent ferrying my children to various weekend and after school activities and we recently took on an allotment in the village with another family.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
