Welcome to the Latimer Primary School website; we hope that you will find it interesting and helpful.
Latimer has served the village of Anstey for many generations, recently celebrating our 125 year anniversary. We are situated in the Charnwood area of Leicestershire, close to rural beauty spots such as Bradgate Park and Cropston Reservoir, and also within a short drive of the vibrant and multicultural city of Leicester. The rich history and variety of the local area have been deliberately woven into our curriculum, creating meaningful learning and great experiences for our pupils.
Our ethos of 'Developing Responsibility; Caring about Achievement' reflects our aim that all pupils leave Latimer as responsible individuals and members of their community, ready for secondary school with their minds full of happy memories and future aspirations, having achieved their true potential during their time with us.

This week #ClassKB have started their Art unit of making a bird, to help celebrate David Attenborough’s 100s birthday this week. The children have created some beautiful observational drawings of birds. Super details using art skills. #perseverance #Latimerart
Wow #ClassKB have written their own rhyming poems to end their English unit. Last week the children thought of rhyming words to rhyme with the animals they chose. Parrot/carrot, fish/dish, fox/socks and many more! #eager #enthusiasm #LatimerEnglish
This week the children have been treated to a production of Treasure Island. Every child in school got to enjoy a live theatre experience. Thank you FOALS for helping to make this possible. #latimerfoals #latimerenglish #oracy
A lovely day for learning about digestion. #Class6VL took advantage of the sunshine to learn more about the body. They used oracy and discussion to learn new vocabulary and explain the process to their peers. Amazing work!
